How do I get Fallout 3: GOTY Disc 2 to work?

It honestly depends on which style of game you enjoy more. It would be similar to me asking the question which movie genre do you like better: Action or Romance? They are two different movie genres and depending on your preferences every answer will vary.
Likewise, Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2 are in two different genres, and depending on if you enjoy one genre over another will depend on your answer.
If you enjoy free roaming environments that do not force you to play the game in a particular way and enjoy spending thirty hours are more in a game, then Fallout 3 is better for you.
If you enjoy a game that is short and sweet and is a fast paced action game but has extended online multiplayer modes, then Gears of War 2 is better for you.
That being said both are very well designed and excellent games. If you are a fan of no particular genre but simply of well designed games that are amazing in there own right, then I highly suggest you purchase both.

Mmmm Gears of War is Basically a Massacer, ive never played GOW 2 but ive played 1, it was awesome, not much like halo tho, different gameplay (much better), and Fallout 3 is you playing as a guy in the future where the world as we know it is destroyed and flipped upside down and you have to find your way in it.

i think fallout 3 is better, but its NOT a standard shooter, theres very heavy rpg overtones, if youre not used to that sort of thing, or if youre just not into it, then avoid fallout. its not SO rpg as to be turn-based, but everything is based on stats and odds and things like that.

Hi, Im just wondering why my new Fall Out New Vegas game, has been uploading to StEAM for the last 2 days. I have had to leave my computer running non stop, hoping it will be done by the time im home from work tonight. If it is taking forever to load up, chances are you may have a nice virus on your computer. Either that or some corrupt files in FNV directories. Have you tried reinstalling the game? Have you recently run a virus scan on your computer with a credible virus scan program? (AVAST, Norton, etc). 2 days is rediculous. It is also possible that your game froze (Fallout New Vegas has a lot of bugs). If it froze, simply ctr-alt-delete and then start up the task manager and find fallout new vegas in the list and choose to "end process". Once you've done this, try restarting the game. Note: If you want steam to work, you have to have an internet connection. Is your internet working?

+ great adaptive storyline
+ freedom, choices that effect game play
+ free roam, cool environments
- third person view is a joke
- FPS fighting is not the best
Gears of War 2 (based on speculation and first game)
+ Good third person combat
+ Good AI
+ Intense gun battles
+ Multiplayer
- Most likely will be short
- linear game play
- no real replay value (story the same each time)

Fable is more cartoony, easy and simple but with a wonderful story and many many hours of things to do.
Fallout is more real and gritty, a bit more complicated but some people like that. And after you beat the game you cannot continue, you must start the game over. That was the biggest letdown for me. In Fable you can keep going.

Both are great games, You might want to try changing the difficulty level in Fallout 3 first before you decide on anything. (Start-Settings-gameplay - difficulty) Fallout is definitely more customizable but if you find it slow and boring Fable tends to be a faster paced game because of its more directed story line and it's harder to get lost.

Unlike Fallout 3, Gears Of War 2 does have multiplayer, but I can't say I enjoyed it much. Fallout 3's huge campaign makes up for the no multiplayer. The game is very fun and you can play it for hours and not get bored of it. I could not do that with Gears Of War 2. I hope that helps.

well, really if i had to choose i chose fallaout 3, because farcry 2 is very repetitve yes you can go to one point to another and start a mission, but in my opinion it is a game that could have 15 hours of gameplay it is very tedious, fallout 3 is a huge game over 100 hours of gameplay (yes 100 hours) and you could beat it again to finish 100% and it will last you like 120 hours, i would go for fallout 3.

Fallout 3 game of the year edition disc 2 problem?
On the Fallout 3 GOTYE disc 2, there are only three files on the disk. Autorun, EN_Fallout_3_DLC, and a Fallout3 icon. Is that all there should be on it? Also there is a ridiculous amount of freedom in what you can do in the game. The game also has an awesome sense of humor and takes a good the at the human race.
To any one that blindly compares this game to oblivion clear has never played a game in the fallout series (All be it the crummy XBox redo of boulders gate., but that wasn't really in line with the rest.)
I have had zero experience with dead space and limited with far cry. I tend to pick my games on how well thought out they are and replayability. Fallout scores a ten in both of these. Also It has been voted game of the year in pretty much everything it has been entered in. (and that was just off the demo.)
It depends on what you like really. They're all great games.
Far Cry 2 has a HUGE map and lots of freedom on what you can do. Plus, there are lots of guns to choose from and it's pretty realistic. On the downside it can get pretty repetitive. Far Cry 2 is pretty big but it's like once you seen one jungle/savanna/desert you've seen it all, and the enemies don't change much. You'll always be fighting what feels like the same mercenary-type guys.
Fallout 3 has a a smaller map than Far Cry 2 but I'd say there's more detail in it. Don't get me wrong though, the map is still pretty big. The combat might feel a little slow, but watching people get their legs blown off in slow motion never gets old.
Dead Space has pretty nice graphics. There's tons of gore and there are so many different kinds of enemies to fight which makes the fights unique. It's not just run and shoot zombies. The guns are pretty sweet too. It's a creative game. You have to see it to understand. This is a definite choice if you like horror games.

If you like shooters, definitely gears 2 and/or COD5. If you like RPGs get Fallout 3. If you want a more actiony game, definitely get Gears of War 2 but all of these games are gonna be great. By the war, Gears of War 2 isn't just shoot, shoot, shoot. You have to be smart about you decisions, where to take cover, what weapon will fit the current situation, how to flank the enemy any many, many more. Plus you can take enemies hostage and use them for cover, how awesome is that? Not to mention crawling towards your teammates for help. Gears of War 2 creates some many memorable, fun, and funny moments that can't be done in any other game. But what really matters is what game you want the most judging by the videos and possibly the reviews.
I would recommend only getting Fallout 3 for the PC as it will basically be like Oblivion (same developer). This means that there are many more features (such as modding) that come for free (and in many cases cheaper) with the PC version. No... to elaborate on what the previous poster said, Fallout 3 was made by Bethesda - in my opinion their other most noteworthy creations are TES: Oblivion and its expansions, and the older Call of Cthulhu game.
KotOR 2 was made by Obsidian (Entertainment). This is just personal opinion but while I love Bethesda, Obisidian is the far greater company. They have many more hits under their belt and their ability for immersive story creation is pretty much legendary. Obsidian has also made Neverwinter Nights 2, and is currently working on the new spy-based game Alpha Protocol.
The important thing to note here, however, is that Obsidian was created after the closure of Black Isle Studios and is mainly made up of its former members. Black Isle created the ORIGINAL Fallout games, one of the most mind boggling CRPGs ever, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale 1 %26amp; 2, and assisted my favorite company in existence, Bioware, in making the Baldur's Gate series.

Is it necessary to have played Fallout 1 and 2 to understand Fallout 3?

Not really, no. You'll miss some inside jokes and references to the previous games, but the storyline is great and you should be able to follow it just fine. It is a most excellent game :)
Their are a few references from previous fallout games. Like the story of how the Brother Hood of Steel went to the East Coast. Plus the ending of Fallout and The ending of "Returning to Homefront".

It feels like a brand new game to me. All the characters explain enverything well.

They are quite different. Instead of being a shooter its an old school rpg. The graphics are very similar to those of the first diablo. I havent played fallout 1 in a while but if i remember correctly its turned base (like dungeons and dragons, if you ever played it). Overall its a fun game but i forgot which one it is but your timed and only have a certain amount of time to complete the game. Its still a fun game though.
Fallout 2 and 1 is crap, its mostly walking, barly any fighting, graphics are just terrible.

The first 2 Fallout's are not first person gameplay, it's from an up-top view. That's the biggest difference. They are still great games tho.driving school
