How different are Fallout and Fallout 2's gameplay from Fallout 3?

I played Fallout 3, a great game, but I heard that Fallout and Fallout 2 were also great although they didn't have the same gameplay as Fallout 3 since they weren't made by Bethesda. So just how different are the gameplays?How different are Fallout and Fallout 2's gameplay from Fallout 3?
They are quite different. Instead of being a shooter its an old school rpg. The graphics are very similar to those of the first diablo. I havent played fallout 1 in a while but if i remember correctly its turned base (like dungeons and dragons, if you ever played it). Overall its a fun game but i forgot which one it is but your timed and only have a certain amount of time to complete the game. Its still a fun game though.
Fallout 2 and 1 is crap, its mostly walking, barly any fighting, graphics are just terrible.

The first 2 Fallout's are not first person gameplay, it's from an up-top view. That's the biggest difference. They are still great games tho.
